New bike day! Giant TCR Alliance

I've started riding more this year

Up until now, my bike lineup included a Trek Marlin 6 and Schwinn Madison single speed, but I've found myself wanting something more suited for distance.

I picked this Giant up from a local bike shop after a period of browsing Marketplace with little luck.

Initially, I had planned to get an aluminum or steel frame. Although carbon sounded good because of weight and all, I was a bit hesitant because I didn't want to have to worry about damaging the frame. After doing some Googling and talking to the guy at the shop, I was all in. I love how light this bike is (around 18lbs).

I "slept" on it overnight to make sure I was going to be happy with it and remember thinking the next morning, "man, that bike was fun to ride!".

The only upgrades I can see myself making (for now) would be some new pedals and potentially a different saddle. Apart from that, it rides great and I look forward to putting some miles on it!
